Our Neighborhood... Other End of the Block....

This is our neighborhood. De Waag is at the end of our block. We are in the middle of this block. This is our favorite part of the city......

Susan and Carol came for a visit....didn't have a picture of all three of us...maybe Susan can update with another picture...they just left last week. We had a cool time exploring the city.
They were able to take in the Van Gogh Museum and see the Ann Frank House.....

We had a good find today at the market actually. we found some bathroom scales for 2 Euro! We were so excited. We had to pay an extra 125 Euro for our luggage to get here from Rome. Susan said she was unfortunately relieved of $178 of her hard-earned cash also at the airport. She was 10 lbs over on her luggage...that's right...she was out of control....shopping.....you can't help yourself...there are so many cool markets all over Italy..weren't there Susan?
Anyway,.......now we can weigh our bags before we get to the airport....we have been looking for bathroom scales all year.....and very hard to find in Italy....we found a couple sets that were like $45....so we kept holding off.....
So the 2 Euro set of scales that we found today was the highlight of our day.....of course it's all in kilos...but we have a calculator....it's a good day!

Captured on our way back from the theatre...just watched New Moon...had to see the shot of the little Tuscan town of Montepulciano in there....we were about 60 miles from this little hillside town and visited it numerous times...They have some of the best red wine in Tuscany and the best shopping around.......although the scene in the movie was very short....it was cool knowing that we were in that very square and walked those same cobble-stoned streets..(wasn't it guys?)...this is the square from the pictures that I posted earlier that had the kids standing in the middle of the square in Montepulciano when they visited this summer....in the movie, they are supposed to be in Volterra, Italy.....but really are in Montepulciano, Italy. Both are in Tuscany. You'll have to watch the movie and look back at my earlier pictures...the movie is a pitiful teen flick from a really cool book series actually....and you will have to fight through the throngs of teenagers to find a seat...or you can wait til it comes out on video..or whatever it does these days....

We love love love our neighborhood in Amsterdam.......we are on such sensory overload all the time...there is so much beauty and quaintness around every leaning corner!
